--  La Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency devient le client de
lancement du Bombardier 415 MP en Asie

MONTRÉAL -- (MARKETWIRE) -- 06/13/08 --  Aujourd'hui, Bombardier
Aéronautique a annoncé que le gouvernement de la Malaisie a passé une
commande ferme de deux avions amphibies multimission Bombardier 415
(Bombardier 415MP) pour son agence de surveillance maritime, la
Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA). Par cette commande, le
gouvernement malais devient le client de lancement en Asie de l'avion
spécialisé Bombardier 415MP.

Le contrat prévoit également les modifications à apporter à l'avion
et la formation.

Variantes du robuste avion amphibie Bombardier 415, seul appareil
conçu spécifiquement pour la lutte aérienne contre les incendies, les
deux appareils Bombardier 415MP seront modifiés pour être dotés de
capacités de surveillance maritime afin de satisfaire aux besoins
spécialisés de la MMEA. Ainsi, les deux appareils seront équipés
d'une suite de surveillance de pointe qui comprend deux radars à
antenne latérale, un radar à antenne frontale à infrarouges,  un
système aéroporté de surveillance maritime et d'autres équipements
avioniques et de communications.

« L'aptitude du Bombardier 415MP à voler à basse vitesse et à basse
altitude, sa grande maniabilité et sa capacité d'amerrissage en font
également l'avion idéal pour les missions de patrouille côtière, a
déclaré Michel Bourgeois, président, division des Avions spécialisés
et amphibies, Bombardier Aéronautique.

Notre Bombardier 415MP offre également des capacités multimission
uniques pour un large éventail de missions, car il combine les
capacités d'un avion de surveillance classique à l'avantage
supplémentaire de l'intervention directe sur l'eau. Cet avion très
polyvalent et très rentable peut remplir une multitude de missions
spécialisées qui nécessitaient auparavant des navires et des avions
dédiés distincts », a ajouté M. Bourgeois.

Depuis la livraison de son premier Bombardier 415 en 1994, Bombardier
Aéronautique a livré 67 appareils Bombardier 415 à des organismes de
lutte contre l'incendie en Croatie, en France, en Grèce, en Italie,
Ontario, au Québec et en Espagne, comptant maintenant 42 avions en
service dans la région méditerranéenne à elle seule.

Le Bombardier 415MP multimission peut être utilisé dans diverses
missions spécialisées : recherche et sauvetage, protection
environnementale, patrouille côtière et transport. Il est doté de
capteurs évolués permettant de repérer et d'identifier des navires,
des personnes en détresse et des polluants.
