Launch of ManUFree.net

Manchester United teams up with UUNET, TWI Interactive and Alternative
Software to Launch Manchester United's free Internet service

Manchester United PLC is to offer free Internet access to its fans and has
entered into an agreement with UUNET, the Internet services division of MCI
WorldCom, to deliver ManUFree.net to UK fans from 15th July 1999.

Under the terms of the agreement, Manchester United will be using the global
Internet infrastructure of UUNET to deliver the service. UUNET's
infrastructure is the highest capacity, most widely deployed Internet network
in the world.

Manchester United and UUNET are also currently developing a 'local call rate'
package that will be available for its international supporters. It is
anticipated that it will begin roll out later this year. This facility will
enable a 'local call rate' service in other countries as each facility is
agreed. The Manchester United web site already receives an increasing number
of hits from overseas locations, including the major markets of North America,
the Far East and Australasia, Middle East, Europe and South America.

As well as the ManUFree.net, UK subscribers will receive five e-mail addresses
in the form of [email protected] E-mail messages will be accessible from
any PC connected to the Internet via a WWW browser interface. The package
will also include:

* Dial-up access to the Internet via an '0845' telephone number charged at
local call rates
* Access to the official Manchester United online news server providing up to
the minute club news
* 20 MB of web space for fans to create their own personal Web site.
* Full service support (via telephone 24 x 7 online)

Online registration facilities for ManUFree.net can be found at www.manutd.com
or obtained via CD-Rom from 'Manchester United' the official club magazine and
through the Official Megastore.

Manchester United already uses the UUNET network to run its web site,
www.manutd.com. Some of the sites features include, download of the matchday
programme, live radio commentary on matches played at Old Trafford and Match
Tracker; a real time statistical analysis of fixtures. TWI Interactive, which
designs, operates and manages Manchester United's award winning web site, will
also be instrumental in the launch and ongoing management of the project. TWI
Interactive is a subsidiary TWI which is part of IMG.

David Gill, Finance Director of Manchester United PLC, said:

'The aim of the Manchester United Web site is to connect our fans both in the
UK and around the world to the Club and offer a comprehensive set of online
services that they can enjoy. ManUFree.net is a natural extension of this
offering.'

UUNET's UK Marketing Director, Joe Clift, added:

'UUNET's ongoing investment of US$2 million per day in its global Internet
infrastructure has enabled us to develop and support the innovative services
of world class organisations, such as Manchester United. I have no doubt that
this alliance of 'premier providers' will deliver an exciting new gateway to
