Qtel Group Member Nawras Announces IPO to Launch on 15 September
Offering of up to 40% of the company's existing shares
Offer to include retail offering of shares
1 September 2010, Doha, Qatar - Qatar Telecom Q.S.C. ("Qtel") subsidiary Nawras, today announced its plans to proceed with an Initial Public Offering (IPO) of its shares on the Muscat Securities Market as part of the terms of its license. Qtel owns 55.6% of Nawras.
The Offering will represent up to 40% of the company and the public subscription is expected to begin on the 15th of September, 2010. The Offering will be made in Oman and will be open to Omani and Gulf Cooperation Council ("GCC") retail and high net worth investors, and to Omani and international institutional investors.
Nawras also announced that Morgan Stanley, BankMuscat and QNB Capital are joint lead managers while Morgan Stanley and BankMuscat have been appointed joint bookrunners.
Since it launched in 2005, Nawras has enjoyed an impressive record acquiring more than 1.97 million mobile customers as at 30 June 2010 which represents a market share of 45%. Nawras also launched fixed services in mid-2010. For six months ended 30 June 2010, Nawras revenues reached OMR 91 million while EBITDA increased to OMR 51 million.
