               Proposed placing of new ordinary shares of 1c each
                    at a placing price of $1.1170 per share

Epicure Qatar Equity Opportunities plc (the 'Company'), a company established to
capture, principally through the Doha  Securities Market, the opportunities for
growth offered by the rapidly expanding Qatari economy, announces that, in 
light of continuing demand from  both  existing shareholders and  potential  new
 investors, it is considering the  possibility of raising new capital through a
placing of new ordinary shares of 1c each in the Company ('New Ordinary 
Shares') at a price of $1.1170 per share (the 'Placing'), being the latest net
asset value ('NAV') as announced on 3  December 2007.

Since its admission to AIM on 31 July 2007, the Company's NAV has increased from
an initial NAV of $0.9641 to $1.1170  as reported yesterday. Qatar Insurance
Company S.A.Q., the investment adviser to the Company, has focused on investing 
a substantial part of the Company's assets prior to the last quarter of 2007,
and it is pleased with the pace of  investments that have taken place since
admission to AIM. The Company has invested approximately $156m (91% of the 
gross funds raised) in 19 companies listed in Qatar, 3 in the United Arab
Emirates and 3 in Kuwait (as of 29 November  2007), and is therefore
substantially fully invested.


Panmure Gordon (UK) Limited ('Panmure Gordon') has been appointed to act as
broker and placing agent and Helvetica  (Isle of Man) Company Limited
('Helvetica') has been appointed as distribution adviser in connection with the
Placing.  A placing agreement has been entered into on the date of this
announcement (the 'Placing Agreement') under which  Panmure Gordon and Helvetica
have each agreed, subject to the satisfaction of certain conditions, to use
reasonable  endeavours to procure subscribers for new ordinary shares to be
issued. The Placing will not be underwritten.

The Placing will be conducted in accordance with the terms and conditions set
out in a placing letter to be issued to  subscribers. The number of new ordinary
shares to be issued pursuant to the Placing (the 'Placing Shares') will be 
determined at the close of the bookbuilding exercise to be undertaken by Panmure
Gordon and is, among other things,  subject to Epicure Qatar Equity
Opportunities plc, Epicure Managers Qatar Limited, Qatar Insurance Company
S.A.Q,  Panmure Gordon and Helvetica entering into a pricing agreement.

It is intended that any new ordinary shares issued will rank pari passu in all
respects with the existing ordinary  shares.
