APPOINTMENT OF NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Universal Salvage plc ('Universal'), the vehicle salvage and auction services
group, is pleased to announce the appointment of Richard Mead as a non-executive
director, with effect from 18 April 2006. On joining, Richard will also take up
the chairmanship of the Company's Audit Committee.
Richard Mead, aged 58, a Chartered Accountant, spent over twenty years in
corporate finance, initially with a number of investment banks, including Credit
Suisse First Boston, and subsequently as National Director of Corporate Finance
at Ernst & Young.
For the last twelve years, Richard has worked as an independent consultant and
has served as non-executive chairman or director of a number of quoted and
private companies. These have included UK pub operator, Tom Cobleigh,
recruitment consultancy, HW Group and vehicle management company, BCH Group.
Richard is currently Chairman of Stonemartin plc, the serviced office provider,
and a non-executive director of IX Europe plc, the datacentre services group,
both of which are quoted on AIM.
Commenting on the appointment, Alexander Foster, Chairman of Universal, said,

our board considerable financial expertise together with wide-ranging business
experience. I am certain that he will be a valuable addition to our team as we
continue to strengthen and develop the Group.'
There is no further information to be disclosed under Listing Rule 9.6.13 in
addition to the above.
