Extract from the Chairman's AGM statement
At today's annual general meeting Tony Cowling, Chairman of Taylor Nelson Sofres
plc (TNS), will say:
"Our views on market developments and TNS' performance for the year in 2005
remain unchanged from those indicated at the time of our results announcement in
March. We continue to believe that TNS will grow revenue ahead of the worldwide
market in 2005 and this is supported by our order book position at the end of
the first quarter.
"Revenue growth is expected to be more strongly weighted to the second half of
the year, as the UK custom business begins to see the benefits of an improvement
in its order book and the US picks up from a slow start to the year, reflecting
variable business conditions in that market. Other regions are expected to
deliver fairly steady revenue growth through the year.
"In line with our normal practice, we will issue a trading update on 8 July,
prior to our interim results announcement on 5 September 2005."
At the meeting, Mr Cowling will also inform shareholders of his intention to
stand down as Chairman at the end of December, just prior to his 70th birthday.
The group is in the process of selecting a new Chairman and a further
announcement will be made as soon as that process has been completed.
