                        Investor and Analyst site visit

Umbro, the globally recognised football brand, is today hosting a site visit to
its Head Office in Cheadle for institutional investors and analysts.

The site visit will include presentations on Umbro's marketing strategy, the
international licensee network, the UK and US markets and new product

Trading continues as outlined at the time of the interim results announced on
Wednesday, 8th September 2004 and the Board remains confident of delivering
increased shareholder value.

The Board will update the analysts further on the following trading information:
     •    International wholesale equivalent sales have continued to grow during
          the second half at 11% over 2003 at constant exchange rates. This is
          marginally ahead of the growth achieved during the first half which 
          had benefited from the European 2004 Championship.

     •    In the USA the relationship with Footlocker is progressing well and Q1
          2005 footwear orders are over 200,000 pairs which is equivalent to 
          that achieved for the whole of 2004. Umbro product is now sold from 
          1,200 doors. The USA strategic target is to achieve sales of $100m by 
          the end of 2008.

     •    The Q1 2005 orders for branded apparel, footwear and equipment in the 
          UK show an increase of 16% over 2004. This increase, boosted by the 
          success of Evolution X, underpins management's confidence that the 
          recent declining trends in the sales of branded goods in the UK will 
          be reversed in 2005.

     •    The 2005 order levels- for England home kit are, as expected, in line
          with 2004 despite the fact that 2005 will be a non-tournament year
