Building competitive advantage
Taylor Nelson Sofres plc (TNS), a world leader in market information, is today
holding a presentation in London for the investment community. The presentation
will focus on business operations and will highlight some of the key activities
across the group that are helping to sustain and build competitive advantage
within TNS' custom business.
In his opening remarks Mike Kirkham, TNS Chief Executive, will reiterate the
view expressed at the time of the interim results, that the market will grow by
3-4 per cent in 2004 and TNS' underlying revenue growth for the year will be in
line with the market. Margin expectations for an improvement of 50-100bp over
the 10 per cent reported margin for 2003 also remain unchanged.
Looking ahead, he will say that, based on current macro-economic conditions, the
group believes that the market will increase by around 4 per cent in 2005, and
TNS expects to achieve underlying revenue growth ahead of the market.
During the presentation, senior managers from around the group will describe
various operational initiatives that differentiate the group from its
competitors. Mike Kirkham will add that, based on its current mix of syndicated
and customised services, successful implementation of these initiatives provides
TNS with the potential to achieve operating margins of 13 per cent or more in
the longer term.
