Interim Results

UNIVENT PLC

INTERIM RESULTS FOR THE SIX MONTHS ENDED 31 MARCH 2004

CHAIRMAN'S INTERIM STATEMENT

I am pleased to report a very satisfactory improvement in the six months ended
31 March 2004. The results reflect a larger contribution to profits from the
Company's Domiciliary Care Agency business and maintained operating margins at
our Homes in London and Somerset. The Company's financial position continues to
strengthen.

Since the end of the period under review the sale of Park View, the least
profitable of our Homes, has been completed, leading to a further reduction in
borrowings. Plans are now at an advanced stage for significant capital
investment in a scheme incorporating a new Home, sheltered housing and related
activities close to our existing business in Somerset.
