ARMOUR GROUP PLC (THE 'COMPANY')
Annual General Meeting
At the Annual General Meeting (the 'AGM') of the Company held today the
Chairman, Mr Bob Morton, made the following statement:-
'I am very pleased to report to shareholders that the good progress made by the
Company in the year to 31 August 2002 has continued into the new financial year.
The Company is ahead of our trading targets for the first quarter and is well
above the comparative period for last year. The key driver behind the growth is
the core connectivity solutions brand Autoleads, ably supported by the two other
established brands of RMAudio and Kicker.
The new in-car audio visual range, launched in October 2002 by the Audio
Electronics Division under the Veba brand name, has been well received by the
market. It is already making a positive impact on our results and I expect the
Veba range to play an ever increasing role in the future growth of the Audio
The Company is financially strong and this good start to the new financial year
underlines the confidence felt by the Board with regard to the future prospects
for the Company.'
At the AGM, all the proposed resolutions were passed by the shareholders
including the change of name of the Company to 'Armour Group PLC'. A
certificate recognising the name change is expected to be issued by the
Registrar of Companies by 15 December 2002 and trading on the Alternative
Investment Market of the London Stock Exchange in the new name is expected to be
effective from 16 December 2002.
