Sema plc ('the Company')
The Company received notification on 27 February 2001, pursuant to Section 198
of the Companies Act 1985 (the 'Act'), from UBS Warburg ('UBSW'), a business
group of UBS AG, which stated that as at the close of business on 26 February
2001, it had an interest in 43,775,662 Ordinary Shares of Sema plc,
representing 7.13 per cent of the issued share capital of the Company.
These interests are held by UBSW as beneficial owner in the ordinary course of
its trading activities and include 42,275,400 Ordinary Shares (6.88 per cent)
held for hedging purposes in relation to contracts for difference entered into
with clients and an interest of 1,411,000 Ordinary Shares (0.23 per cent) in
relation to options held pursuant to the Act.
Holdings of the Ordinary Shares are registered or will be registered in the
name of Apollo Nominees Ltd.
