Industry Background:

IDC estimates that worldwide spending for knowledge management services will
increase from $3.7 billion in 2001 to over $10 billion in 2004 with a
five-year annual growth rate (CAGR) of 51%. According to IDC analyst Greg
Dyer, ' Knowledge management solutions have to address a business' technology,
people and business processes in order to be successful. Because most clients
do not have the internal resources necessary to effectively develop and
integrate KM solutions, they need vendors' support. Orbital is addressing this
need by combining the efforts of technology and service providers through the
Orbital Velocity Alliance Program.'
