     Taylor Nelson Sofres acquires majority interest in new joint venture

Taylor Nelson Sofres, a world leader in marketing information, announces that
it has formed a joint venture company with Research Surveys. Taylor Nelson
Sofres will be the majority shareholder in the new company. The primary
business of the new company will be based on the Conversion ModelTM. The
Conversion Model is a highly successful branded research solution, which is
used to analyse customer commitment and loyalty.

Taylor Nelson Sofres has held the exclusive European licence for the
Conversion Model since 1993 and in 2000 alone will conduct over 228 studies
for a number of major multi-national clients using this research tool.
Worldwide, 650-plus studies using the Conversion Model will be conducted in

The Conversion Model was developed by Research Surveys, which is based in Cape
Town, and is the largest consumer research company in South Africa. Research
Surveys retains a minority interest in the business and Jan Hofmeyr, who
developed the model, will remain with the company.
