Ultima Networks to develop new broadband industry standard equipment
for cable TV market

Ultima Networks (UTN) has today announced that it's wholly owned Canadian
subsidiary, SilCom Technology, has signed an agreement with C-COR.net
Corporation (Nasdaq CCBL) to develop new industry standard broadband CATV
equipment.

The announcement follows over two years of work by the Society of Cable
Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) to define standards for network management
systems used in the broadband CATV industry.

As original members of SCTE, SilCom Technology and C-COR.net are scheduling the
initial deployment of this equipment in 2001, with an estimated volume of
100,000 units by the end of that year.

'This is an opportunity for SilCom to return to its core strength - product
development and innovation. Historically, SilCom has been renowned for its LAN
product development and manufacture,' says SilCom's president John Moffat. 'We
are applying that expertise to broadband technology and are committed to
delivering high quality, standards based, multi-vendor management solutions to
the CATV industry - worldwide.'

SilCom's OEM customers for its Ethernet and Token Ring products include top tier
networking companies - Cisco, Nortel Networks, Cabletron, Compaq and 3Com.
C-COR.net Corporation is a Nasdaq listed company (CCBL) which designs,
manufactures, and provides Cable plant equipment and broadband backbone services
for the Cable TV industry. They achieved sales of $202 million and Net income of
$10.1 million for the 39 weeks ended 24th March 2000.
