              BOARD APPOINTMENT
                      
Volex Group p.l.c., the world's leading independent
producer   of  electrical  and  electronic   cable
assemblies and electrical power cords, is  pleased
to  announce  the appointment of Mark Ashcroft  to
the Board with  immediate effect.

Mr. Ashcroft, aged 43, joined Volex in 1984 and was
appointed Company Secretary in 1992, the  position
which  he  continues to hold.  He  graduated  from
Liverpool  University with  LLB  Honours  and  was
admitted as a Solicitor in 1981.

Commenting on the appointment, Chairman, Bill Goodall
said,

'I am delighted to welcome Mark Ashcroft as a Director.
Mark is highly regarded within the Company and his
wealth  of  knowledge and experience  will  be  of
great benefit to the Board.'
