Taylor Woodrow PLC 10 February 2004 Colchester Garrison Land Acquisition Taylor Woodrow, the housing and development company, has today exchanged contracts to purchase 209 acres of former MOD land for housing and commercial development at Colchester Garrison from the RMPA Services Consortium (1), which leads the Colchester Garrison PFI project. The purchase of the land will be phased over the next 5-6 years. Once complete the site will contain just over 2,500 residential units and 11 acres of commercial land. The total site is 209 gross acres of which 135 acres will be developed. Taylor Woodrow will be the master developer and will service the whole site and, in addition to its own housing developments, may dispose of serviced land parcels to other developers at the appropriate time. The site benefits from a 15 year outline planning permission with a signed section 106 agreement, specifying the provision of certain pre-agreed amenities. Work will commence in the summer of 2004 with the first house sales expected within 12 months.
