Ruukki chosen for extensive frame contract for ...

Press release 23 September 2009 Ruukki has been chosen to be the steel structure contractor for production facilities to be built for Norway-based Framo Engineering AS. Ruukki's delivery includes frame structure design, manufacture and installation. The value of the deal is almost EUR 4 million. The lead contractor and Ruukki's customer in this project is Veidekke Entreprenør AS and the new facilities will be built in the island municipality of Askøy near the Norwegian city of Bergen. Framo (Frank Mohn AS) manufactures products for the oil and gas industry. The new production facilities will total around 15,000 of floor space. The frame will be optimised using Ruukki's own design solution to give a best-value end result and good structural performance. Professional project management will ensure seamless cooperation between structure design, manufacture and installation. This in turn will ensure top quality and reliability, as well as enhance working safety at the construction site. Installation of the frame will start at the beginning of January 2010 and will be completed by the end of May. The frame will mainly be manufactured at Ruukki's sites in Finland.
