Director's shareholding

The Company was informed on 8 March 2000 of the following option exercises by
Mike Allen, a Director of the Company:

On 7 March 2000 Mr Allen exercised share options in respect of 21,713 ordinary
shares of 10p each ('Ordinary Shares') at a subscription price of 141.5p per
share.  Later that day Mr Allen exercised further share options in respect of
31,665 ordinary shares of 10p each ('Ordinary Shares') at a subscription price
of 171.5p per share.

Following these exercises, Mr Allen (and his wife) are interested in a
total of 407,928 Ordinary Shares, 0.22 per cent. of the Company's issued share
capital.
