Directors' shareholdings

Persimmon plc ('the Company') announces that on 17 March 2005 it was advised
that on the same day, John White, Mike Farley, John Millar and David Bryant,
executive directors, sold the following number of ordinary shares in the Company
at an average price of £7.7443 per share and therefore they are no longer
beneficially or non-beneficially interested in such shares.

These directors have informed the Company that they sold these shares in order
to settle tax liabilities on the recent vesting of share rights and that they
have no present intention of selling further shares.
