New Publishing Deal

On-Line PLC 26 July 2000 ON-LINE PLC STRIKE PUBLISHING DEAL WITH SIMON & SCHUSTER INTERACTIVE On-line PLC (the Aim listed Internet and Content company) today announced a new publishing deal with Simon & Schuster Interactive, a division of Simon & Schuster Inc., the publishing operation of Viacom, Inc. The deal gives On-line the rights to publish Simon & Schuster's best-selling PC game series, Deer Avenger, Deer Avenger 2 and Deer Avenger 3-D outside of North America. A parody of the popular deer-hunting genre, Deer Avenger was the number one selling computer software at Walmart last Christmas season. On-line have focused their efforts so far this year in the lucrative football management genre, with Giant Killers, and its follow-up Giant Killers Euro Manager 2000, and are now expanding their remit to include other genres. The company have been proactively seeking to strike alliances with third party developers and publishers as part of their continual growth strategy. Rod Cobain, Managing Director of On-line's publishing division, commented, 'This is an important step in On-line's strategy to build its third party product portfolio. The Deer Avenger series has achieved impressive sales in North America and we are confident that it can be launched into Europe with similar success.' The news follows the recent expansion of On-line's European distribution network, having signed distribution deals with companies including Golden Games AB in Scandinavia and A 1 Software in the German territories. This will enable their product to be launched onto the largest of the European markets.
