OAKLEY CAPITAL INVESTMENTS LIMITED

Launch of Independent Advisory Firm for Derivative Products

The Board of Oakley Capital Investments Limited ('Oakley'), the AIM traded investment company established to provide investors with exposure to the investment strategy being pursued principally by Oakley Capital Private Equity L.P. ('OCPE'), is pleased to announce that one of OCPE's portfolio companies, Monument Securities Limited, the international derivatives, equities and fixed income broker, has established Monument Advisory, a new business unit.

Monument Advisory will provide structured product advice, expert witness testimony and derivative analysis plus valuations to institutions, banks, lawyers and accountancy firms.  In light of the independent nature and well regarded expertise of Monument Securities, Monument Advisory is ideally situated to proffer opinion on behalf of principals in complex securities.

The Board is delighted to announce that Monument Advisory will be headed up by Dr Stephen Dolbear, a leading figure in the area. Dr Stephen Dolbear has over twenty years' experience of derivative-based products and has been involved in the creation of numerous complex structured derivatives that have been widely adopted across the financial industry.  Prior to joining Monument Advisory, Dr Dolbear was Head of Derivatives and Senior Fund Manager at F&C Asset Management from 1995, where he constructed a centre of excellence in derivatives. Dr Dolbear's work has been recognised by a number of industry awards, including: Derivatives Superstar (Global Finance Magazine) in 1994 and a Eurohedge award in 2004.

Dr Dolbear will be supported by Dr Paul Wesson, a quantitative specialist. Dr Wesson has experience of creating alpha and risk models for a quantitative investment framework, having an in-depth knowledge of pricing both vanilla and exotic derivatives and has management experience of creating and running a buy-side Risk Department.  Prior to Monument Advisory, Dr Wesson worked at F&C Asset Management as Head of Portfolio Risk from 1998, before moving into an Analyst / Fund Manager position in the Alternative Investment Department in 2002.

Peter Dubens, Director of Oakley, said,

'Monument Securities is a successful portfolio company of Oakley Capital Private Equity, and this is another step in establishing Monument as a leading player in the derivatives market. With the current turbulence in financial services, we are anticipating a rise in the need for independent valuations and expert opinions. Stephen and Paul are the leading operators in this field, and with them on board we are now very well placed to deal with what is considered to be a sizeable demand.'

Martin Burton, Director of Monument Securities, said,

'We are very excited to have two very experienced professionals join our growing brand, they will assist us to provide additional services to our clients.  We believe this initiative will be attractive in the future economic climate.'
