         Acquisition of Picking Liverpool Limited ('Spekehall Vauxhall')


Lookers plc, a leading multi franchise national operator in the UK motor retail
industry, is pleased to announce the acquisition of the business and entire
share capital of Picking Liverpool Limited known as Spekehall Vauxhall from
Vauxhall Motors Holdings Limited.

The total consideration was approximately £700,000 including the settlement of
an inter-company loan.  This acquisition complements our recently redeveloped
dealership on Derby Road, Bootle, Liverpool and our dealership in St Helens to
complete our coverage of the Liverpool and Merseyside market area for Vauxhall.

This new dealership will be known as Lookers Speke, and will benefit from its
close proximity to the rapidly expanding John Lennon Airport at Speke and other
developing businesses in the area.

Commenting, Fred Maguire, Chairman said, 'This acquisition enhances our existing
strong market presence in the region with dealerships on Merseyside, the Wirral
and in Chester. It also cements our close relationship with Vauxhall which we
now represent in the major cities of Liverpool and Birmingham, making Lookers
one of the largest Vauxhall retail groups in the country.'
