NOTIFICATION OF INTERESTS OF DIRECTORS

On 13th January 2000 the following Directors of the company were granted Options
over Ordinary 25p shares at an Option price of 40p per share.  The period during
which these Options are exercisable is 13th January 2003 to 12th January 2010.

Mr Christopher John Marsden - 50,000 shares under the Leeds Group plc 1996
Unapproved Executive Share Option Scheme.  Mr Marsden's total holding of Options
under all Schemes is 350,000.

Mr Malcolm Wilson - 75,000 shares under the Leeds Group plc 1996 Approved
Executive Share Option Scheme; 5,000 shares under the Leeds Group plc 1996
Unapproved Executive Share Option Scheme.  Mr Wilson's total holding of Options
under all Schemes is 80,000.

Mr James Kidd - 23,250 shares under the Leeds Group plc 1996 Approved Executive
Share Option Scheme; 1,750 shares under the Leeds Group plc 1996 Unapproved
Executive Share Option Scheme.  Mr Kidd's total holding of Options under all
Schemes is 40,000.

Mr Jeffrey Zaph Beardsley - 25,000 shares under the Leeds Group plc 1996
Unapproved Executive Share Option Scheme, Mr Beardsley's total holding of
Options under all Schemes is 46,700.
