               Announcement of Managing Director (Designate)

The Board of The Law Debenture Corporation p.l.c. announces that it has 
appointed Mrs Caroline Banszky as Managing Director (Designate).  She will join 
Law Debenture in February 2002, as a Director.  Upon the retirement of the 
current Managing Director, Christopher Duffett, following the Annual General 
Meeting on 9th April 2002, and subject to her re-election by the shareholders, 
Caroline Banszky will take over as Managing Director.

Caroline Banszky is currently Chief Operating Officer for SVB Holdings PLC and 
before that, was Finance Director for N.M. Rothschild & Sons Limited.
