Harvest receives MAPA approval of KP Fértil® as a   Fertilizer

Harvest Minerals Limited, the AIM listed fertilizer producer, is pleased to announce that Brazil's Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Food Supply ("MAPA") has approved the registration of Harvest's organic, multi-nutrient KP Fértil® as a simple mineral fertilizer which under MAPA regulations categorises KP Fértil® as an authorized source of macro- and micro-nutrients that are essential for maintaining soil health and improving production.

The MAPA certification adds to KP Fértil® current MAPA certification in the category of soil remineralizer and reinforces the quality and credibility of the product and its ability to be more widely commercialized.

Brian McMaster, Chairman of Harvest, said: "Having our KP Fértil® registered as a fertilizer in Brazil is a major milestone and its importance cannot be underestimated.  Being recognised as a fertilizer by MAPA is the highest level of certification that KP Fértil® needs to achieve and is indisputable recognition of the quality of our product.

In commercial terms, the MAPA certification means that the quality of our product is acknowledged and that is very important recognition for our customers, particularly new customers and even more so at this time when new customers may be looking to make swift buying decisions due to external market factors.  Additionally, the certification means that our product will be considered by a larger customer audience because for some customers, the MAPA fertiliser certification is a requirement for purchase.

Obtaining this certification is a credit to our technical team and management, and it is a one of the proudest moments the Board has experienced through developing Harvest.  We are very excited by this.

Further Information:

In order to receive the MAPA certification of KP Fértil®, Harvest was required to provide scientific and agronomic evidence to the MAPA authorities that demonstrated that our KP Fértil® product carries soil nutrients and is suitable for use in agriculture i.e. that it is non-toxic and contains no contaminants.  The evidence reviewed by MAPA, included several audits of Harvest's production process at the Arapu á project installations, details of the mineral composition of raw materials and long-term agronomical studies and evidence of the agronomic efficiency and effects over crops where the product is applied.  Following a detailed review of the is material, MAPA awarded Harvest the much-coveted certification.

KP Fértil® certification registered under the following number: MG 000710-2.000002.
