                      Result of Annual General Meeting and details of Independent Report

Dublin, July 31 2009  Great Western Mining Corporation plc ("GWMC" or "the Company") shareholders were presented
with optimistic results from a Competent Persons Report at the company's Annual General Meeting which took place
this morning at the Herbert Park Hotel in Ballsbridge, Dublin. All resolutions were passed unanimously.

The independent report confirms that "bottle roll leaching tests of samples crushed to pass a ¼"(6mm) screen
opening produced excellent extractions of copper, precious metals and uranium".

The completion of the Competent Persons Report now enables the company to conduct a mapping, trenching, and
possible drilling campaign to define the length, width and volume of the deposit.  The report was produced by
WT Cohan and Associates, Colorado, an independent Mining Engineering Company with 30 years geological
experience of the Excelsior Mountains.

Great Western Mining has extended the area under claim from 4 square kilometers to approximately 15 square
kilometres in Nevada, and controls 100% of this claim area.

"This extremely promising independent report is a strong endorsement of our activities with our exploration
programme, and we now look forward to proceeding at pace with the project," said Emmett O'Connell, Chief
Executive of GWMC.

This positive and promising report comes on the back of an exceptional 12 months for GWMC, with the company
receiving the LION Capital Limited "Best Resource Stock of 2008" on the PLUS market at an awards ceremony in
London.  The Company is currently trading at approximately 17.25 pence on the London PLUS market.
