Publication of a circular

In order to meet the continuing demand for shares in Edinburgh Worldwide Investment Trust plc (the "Company"), the Board of Directors of the Company (the "Board") is seeking shareholder approval to renew the authority to disapply the statutory pre-emption rights on the issue of shares in the capital of the Company.

Accordingly, the Company has today published a circular convening a general meeting (the "General Meeting") at which a special resolution will be put to shareholders to seek the authority to disapply statutory pre-emption rights in relation to the allotment of shares up to an aggregate nominal value of £325,938.69 (amounting to up to 32,593,869 shares) representing approximately 10 per cent. of the Company's issued share capital as at 18 June 2020 (the "Resolution"). The authority conferred by the Resolution will lapse at the conclusion of the next annual general meeting of the Company which is anticipated to be held in January 2021.

The Board believes that the authority sought at the General Meeting will allow it to satisfy the expected demand for shares in the period from the General Meeting to the Company's next annual general meeting.

A copy of the circular is available for inspection on the Company's website at www.edinburghworldwide.co.uk. A copy of the circular will also be submitted to the National Storage Mechanism and will be available for inspection at https://data.fca.org.uk/#/nsm/nationalstoragemechanism .
