AGM Statement

easyJet PLC 24 February 2005 NOT FOR DISTIBUTION UNTIL: 10.00 Thursday 24 February 2005 Speaking at the easyJet Annual General Meeting today in Luton, Sir Colin Chandler, Chairman, said: 'I am pleased to report to shareholders that easyJet's business continues to perform solidly. 'Our figures for the first quarter, as reported on 7 February 2005, showed total revenue per passenger broadly in line with last year, with 26% more passengers carried. To date the second quarter is performing positively and in line with our expectations; part of the positive performance will be due to the timing of Easter. However, there are still challenges ahead and much remains to be achieved. 'Making predictions in this business is no easy task and, as with our competitors, visibility remains limited. We can safely say that competition will continue from low cost carriers and from the established airlines. Volatility in the price of fuel is inevitable as well. These challenges are being met by constant attention to cost efficiencies by the management team and continued emphasis on increasing revenue from all sources available to us. 'The increasing scale of easyJet gives us resilience and the capability to leverage our size with suppliers and for the benefit of our customers. The successful management of our scale in an expanding European market is the key to the continuous enhancement of our business performance which will provide long term benefits for all of our stakeholders. The staff of easyJet are committed to the sustained improvement in our performance which is essential for our future and their achievements to date give me confidence of our ability to succeed.'
