Elektron PLC 02 July 2004 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 2 July 2004 ELEKTRON PLC (the 'Company' or 'Elektron') Proposed transfer of assembly operations Posting of Report and Accounts to Shareholders Elektron, the AIM quoted components and electronics group, announces that following the acquisition of the business and assets of Arcolectric in December 2003, management has completed its review of the costs and capabilities of the group's manufacturing plants in the UK, China and Tunisia. As a result of this review, a proposal is being considered to transfer the Bulgin UK assembly operations to Tunisia and/or China. This proposal would involve a significant number of redundancies at the Company's assembly operations in Barking. The timetable for the transfer of operations is currently being finalised but it is envisaged that the transfer process would be completed during the Company's current financial year. The Company announces today that it has posted its Report and Accounts for the year ending 31 January 2004 to its shareholders.
