By BFN News | 10:03 AM | Tuesday 11 May, 2010

Youth fashion retailer and wholesaler SuperGroup says total sales were up 83% to £139m in the year to May 2. In its pre-close update, the company, which floated in March, reported retail sales rose 75% to £85m, driven by a successful roll-out in the UK, with like-for-like sales up 17%. Wholesale sales rose 98% to £54m. The group expected a profit before tax of not less than £25.7m, unchanged from its prospectus. CEO Julian Dunkerton said, 'We are absolutely delighted with the progress achieved this year and that the momentum of growth has continued both in the UK and abroad. 'Recent store openings have confirmed the success of the new store design and internationally we go from strength to strength.' Results will be announced on Thursday, July 15.
