By BFN News | 12:15 PM | Friday 03 December, 2010

eMarketplace provider @UK plc said the government spending review has led to a significant increase in enquiries. Local authorities, universities, NHS Trusts and other government bodies were enquiring about the company's eProcurement system as they sought to implement required levels of cost savings. Chairman Ronald Duncan told the AGM the company's recent launch into the higher education sector via an agreement with Barclaycard was progressing well and it expected the first universities to sign agreements within the next quarter. The company continued to sign new suppliers on to its marketplace and had seen the number of products available via its platform increase by over 20%. 'This progress is underpinned by a strengthening financial position and has allowed us to increase our sales, marketing and development resources.' The share price was up 0.13p at 3.25p.
