Statement re recent press comments
('Manchester City' or the 'Company')
Seymour Pierce Limited, financial adviser to Dr Thaksin Shinawatra, notes
certain recent press articles which quote comments from Noppadom Pattama,
attorney to Dr Thaksin based in Bangkok, stating, amongst other things, that:
'Dr Thaksin has the money to buy Manchester City and the signs from the club in
the latest negotiations are good';
'The Assets Examination Committee (AEC) which froze Dr Thaksin's assets on
Monday over corruption claims, did not place a block on the funds in those
accounts';
'Dr Thaksin may need to use some of the money that has been frozen';
'If Dr Thaksin can't buy Manchester City the AEC will be to blame'.
Seymour Pierce Limited and Dr Thaksin wish to clarify that Noppadom Pattama is
not authorised to speak on behalf of Dr Thaksin on matters governed by the City
Code on Takeovers and Mergers and accordingly all of the statement made by
Noppadom Pattama should be disregarded.
Further to the announcement made by Manchester City on 12 June 2007, Dr Thaksin
and Manchester City remain in discussions regarding a possible offer for the
Company.
These discussions may or may not lead to an offer being made for the Company.
A further announcement will be made in due course, as appropriate.
