Sunset + Vine to become the UK's biggest poker provider
Tinopolis sports indie Sunset + Vine is set to become the UK's biggest
independent producer in the fast growing programming area of gaming. The
company today announced that it would be producing five new series - more
than 85 hours - in 2006, with a contract value of £4 million.
The company has won commissions for the PokerStars.com European Poker Tour
(17x90') which has just completed recording in seven casinos around Europe and
the PokerStars.com World Cup of Poker 2006 (5x90') a team event, being shot in
Barcelona in the summer. Another new series, the Interpoker.com University
Poker Clash - (10 x 90') which will crown the best student poker players will
be recorded in June.
Sunset + Vine has also won orders from Challenge for two celebrity based series.
Showbiz Poker is a 15 x 90' entertainment series with celebrity players
including footballer Teddy Sheringham, businessman and Dragon's Den star Duncan
Bannatyne, actor Dexter Fletcher and Band of Brothers star Jamie Bamber.
Showbiz Blackjack, 10 x 60', a first for the channel, will move gaming on to
the next level with another popular card game.
Sunset + Vine's poker and blackjack coverage is being executive produced by
John Leach and Jane Fletcher. Executive producers for Challenge are
Elizabeth Murphy and Commissioning Editor Rebecca Johnson. All of the
programming will air in Challenge's late night casino entertainment slot and
will also be shown on entertainment channel Player, as well as being
distributed internationally.
