The Board of Crest Nicholson PLC (Crest), the residential and mixed-use
development company, today announces that John Callcutt has given notice of his
intention to resign as Non-Executive Deputy Chairman of Crest with effect from
31 March 2006 in order to take up the position of Chief Executive of English
Partnerships.


John Callcutt became Deputy Chairman of Crest on 1 November 2005 following his
retirement as Chief Executive Officer.


John Matthews, Chairman of Crest, said:


'John's contribution to Crest over the years has been outstanding and we are
sorry to see him leave. He has become a leading figure in UK house building,
especially in the area of urban regeneration. On behalf of the Board and
everyone at Crest I should like to thank him for his wholehearted commitment to
the Company over the past 32 years, and wish him all the very best at English
Partnerships.'

John Callcutt, a solicitor, joined Crest in 1974. He was appointed to the Board
in 1985 and became Chief Executive in 1991. He became Deputy Chairman on 1
November 2005 following his retirement as Chief Executive Officer. John is
currently also a director of the Building Research Establishment (BRE) Trust, a
Director of the Housing Forum and Chairman of a Housing Forum Working Group
preparing a report on 'Customer Driven Strategy for Housing Construction'.
